Yet\nAgain – DRS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This\nyear we published a new leaflet which was distributed at the DRS [\nDirect Rail Services ] open day at Carlisle. Unlike the previous one\nwe used, this new one can be distributed on other occasions.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As\nin previous years this protest was organised in conjunction with\nRadiation Free Lakelands.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On\nJune 1st<\/sup> a DRS nukiller waste flask passed through\nWarrington Bank Quay station on the way to Sellafield. We will be\nleafleting outside the station on Thursday August 15th<\/sup> as\npart of our work to inform people about these dangerous loads.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\nwill continue to organise more such leafleting sessions at other\nstations where these flasks go through, as a part of our public\nawareness work. These will be held outside stations in the nukiller\nnorth west. Please let us know if you want to join us on them.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Long\nterm campaigning \u2013 long term costs.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most\nof the campaigning work we are engaged upon can not be achieved in\njust a matter of a few years, as the very nature of nukiller power\nmeans it will take decades to clean up the radioactive mess.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thus\nwe always need to think out how to maintain this long term\ncampaigning, and how to finance this work.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thus\nunlike many many campaigning groups we have to look at our long term\nfinances and expenditures.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For\nexample \u2013 In July we renewed out webpage domain name for another\nfive years.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then\nthere are the ongoing costs which come from printing and distributing\nour leaflets.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\ndon’t have any staff or office to pay for, but there are still travel\ncosts which need to be covered.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\nall adds up +\u00a3+\u00a3+\u00a3 <\/strong>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last year we received a very generous donation from the Lush Fund, but we can not forever rely upon such funders to bankroll our work.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At present we are working to produce a new edition of Wildlife and the Atom, which was published by Greenpeace [ London ] in 1983.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\nand a couple of other new publication we have in mind to produce will\neat in to our finances.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

So\nwe are now appealing for your help to finance our essential\ncampaigning work.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\nwill be back at the Springfields plant to mark 61 years since the\nWindscale Fire.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This\nwill be an event which starts at 14.00. <\/strong>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

March 4th<\/strong><\/sup><\/strong> 2020 <\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

50\nyears since the signing of the Almelo Treaty. <\/strong>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\nwill be organising an event to mark this date. <\/strong>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
